I am proud to call North Carolina home. My wife Babs and I grew up and were educated in Alamance County in the City of Graham. Our two boys were raised here where they had the opportunity to attend great public schools and North Carolina universities. I served as PTA President at our schools and Babs was a career teacher with the state. As your State Representative, I will continue to fight for public education and economic opportunity for all.
Most of my working career was here in North Carolina at Elon University and Wake Forest University where I was in charge of Auxiliary Services, Communication Services, and Project Management. My charge was to bring projects and services in on time and under budget while providing satisfactory expectations of our customers- students and their parents. Support services can be a 24X7 venture that exposes you to many business environments and regulatory issues.
Coastal North Carolina, in many areas is still recovering from Hurricane Florence. We must elect leaders who will ensure that we follow through with those individuals and communities that are still in need. It is critical that funding for our public schools be restored and return North Carolina to a model that others look up to. This is imperative for us to remain competitive and attract new business. Control of spiraling medical costs and continued insurability for those with pre-existing conditions is paramount. I understand the challenges facing our state today. As your State Representative, I will meet and listen to you as we look for responsible solutions that help all of our families and move our state forward.
